Your data
What we keep
Your account: name, email address, password (stored hashed, so nobody can read it), language, and your WhatsApp number if you give it. Then what you do on the site: your listings and their photos, your requests, your messages, your favourites and your reports.
Why
To make the site work: publishing listings, passing on requests and messages, and letting you know by email when someone replies. Nothing else. No newsletter, no selling of data, no advertising.
Who sees what
The owner sees the name of the traveller writing to them, their dates and their messages. The traveller sees the owner’s name, and their WhatsApp number only if the owner has allowed it. Messages are read only by the two people in the conversation, and by us if one of them reports abuse.
Where
On an OVH server in France, inside the European Union. The site’s emails (new request, reply, password) are sent through Brevo, a mailing service based in France, which receives your email address and nothing else.
Cookies
One session cookie to keep you signed in, one that remembers the language of your account, and one that remembers your trip dates. No analytics or advertising cookies. The map backgrounds come from OpenFreeMap: to show them, your browser requests images from them, which passes on your IP address, with no cookie.
How long
As long as your account exists. When it is deleted, your listings, photos and messages go with it, except what the law requires us to keep.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data by writing to achille.kentros@gmail.com. You can also contact the Data Protection Authority (Belgium), the Greek authority (Αρχή Προστασίας Δεδομένων) or the authority in your own country.
